OpenAI unveils three new 'major' discoveries in math, CS and physics

Less than a month after releasing hundreds of manuscripts on long-standing math problems, OpenAI has announced three more 'major' discoveries in mathematics, computer science and physics. This time, external experts it calls 'shepherds' guided the computer science and physics results. For the math result, on local smoothing for the wave equation, OpenAI was advised to release the raw model output for researchers to examine.
