Australia adds biometric checks for visa applicants in India

Indian students applying for Australian visas may now need to give fingerprints and a facial image, as Australia expands biometric collection to nearly 60 countries from October 26, 2026. The rule applies only to new applications. Applicants may visit an Australian Biometrics Collection Centre or, in some cases, submit details through the Australian Immi App.
