Uefa nears pick of challenger to Infantino for Fifa presidency
Uefa and its allies are close to naming a candidate to challenge Gianni Infantino in March's Fifa presidential election, possibly as early as next week. Candidates must confirm they are standing by November 18. The effort suffered a setback when AFC president Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al-Khalifa endorsed Infantino's bid for a fourth term. Arsène Wenger is not thought to be seriously in contention.
