Pakistan army 'cautiously optimistic' on US-Iran mediation

Pakistan's military spokesman Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the army is cautiously optimistic about efforts to mediate between Iran and the US and revive a ceasefire in the eight-month war. Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has visited Tehran twice this month. Chaudhry warned that powerful spoilers still believe the conflict serves them, without naming anyone.
