Nanotyrannus skeleton 'Jodi' heads to Sotheby's auction
The mounted skeleton of Nanotyrannus, a dinosaur once mistaken for a young T. rex, is being auctioned by Sotheby's in New York with a price tag of at least $6 million. Nicknamed 'Jodi', the roughly 3-metre skeleton has about 191 fossil-bone elements and could fetch up to $9 million. Some scientists question whether dinosaur remains should be sold privately.
