Cancer drug mark-ups hit up to 700% despite 2019 margin cap

Most anti-cancer drugs on which the NPPA capped trade margins at 30% in February 2019 showed mark-ups of 100% to over 700% in its 2026 list. Of 137 drugs now listed for margin cuts, 34 were from the 2019 list. The All-India Drug Action Network said one-time price cuts fail without permanent caps and consistent monitoring.
