UAE honours Indian pilot Smit Machchhar for foiling cockpit attack

Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar and his flydubai crew received the UAE's First Class Order of Zayed II for protecting passengers during a September 30 mid-air attack on flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv. Machchhar was seriously injured when his co-pilot allegedly attacked him with a crash axe. Photos of large stitches on his head drew wide attention.
