JD(U) expels MLA Anant Singh and ex-MLA Neelam Devi for six years

Bihar's ruling JD(U) has expelled MLA Anant Singh and former MLA Neelam Devi from the party for six years. In a statement by state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha, the party said Singh defied directives, used insulting language against top leaders and campaigned for a rival candidate in the recent legislative council polls. It has also asked the Assembly Speaker to act on his membership under the anti-defection law.
