Omron Healthcare opens first Indian plant near Chennai

Japan's Omron Healthcare has inaugurated its first Indian factory at Gummidipoondi near Chennai, built within three years of a 2023 MoU with the Tamil Nadu government. The 258,333 sq ft unit is designed to make about 300,000 blood pressure monitors a year, with plans to raise capacity tenfold to 30 lakh units within two years and start exports to Europe next year.
