Supreme Court opens contempt case over Kerala Congress post on CJI

The Supreme Court has registered a suo motu contempt petition against the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee over a since-deleted post on X addressing Chief Justice Surya Kant and demanding his resignation. The case combines letters from lawyers Vineet Jindal and Sreejesh SR and is tentatively listed for November 6. Supreme Court bar bodies had condemned the post.
