Argentina drops crypto fraud probe against President Milei

A criminal investigation into Argentine President Javier Milei and his sister Karina over the $Libra cryptocurrency scandal has been dismissed. Federal judge Marcelo Martinez de Giorgi closed the case at prosecutors' request. Milei had denied promoting the coin, which crashed soon after he mentioned it in a February 2025 social media post, causing heavy losses for most investors.
