Tamil Nadu raises DA for government staff from 60% to 63%

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay announced a dearness allowance hike from 60% to 63% for state government employees and teachers, effective July 2026, matching a similar increase for Central government staff. About 16 lakh employees, teachers, pensioners and family pensioners will benefit, at an annual cost of ₹1,858 crore. The government said it would help them celebrate Deepavali.
