Tiny Southeast Asian snakes escape danger by cartwheeling

Scientists have filmed tiny dwarf reed snakes in Southeast Asia escaping danger by cartwheeling at speeds of up to 13 km/h. The study, published in Current Biology on October 19, examined three species of the genus Pseudorabdion. Each snake curls into a C shape, points its head forward, then whips its tail backwards and over its head to roll ahead.
