US proposes cyan lights to show when robotaxis drive themselves
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has proposed that driverless vehicles use cyan marker lamps to signal clearly when an automated driving system is in control. The proposal rewrites Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108 for autonomous vehicles. Cyan was picked because red, amber, white and flashing blue or red lights already serve other purposes on roads.
