'Synthetic twin': Socceroo Cristian Volpato licenses his AI clone

Australian footballer Cristian Volpato, 22, has become the latest professional athlete to license and monetise his AI likeness. A social media video, made by a new company acting as an AI licensing agent for athletes, shows his "synthetic twin" in settings such as the Twelve Apostles. Experts say such deals come as bookmakers, broadcasters and brands increasingly use athletes' images in AI content without permission.
