Sikkim body urges talks to bring Karmapa back to Rumtek

The Sikkim Bhutia Lepcha Apex Committee has urged the state government to begin high-level talks for the return of the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorjee, to Rumtek Monastery. It said his 10-day visit to Bhutan, which began October 29, offers a crucial opportunity, noting the monastery's throne has been vacant for 45 years.
