Chris Brown avoids jail with suspended sentence over London club attack

US singer Chris Brown received an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, for hitting a man twice on the head with a tequila bottle at London's Tape nightclub in February 2023. His vocal coach Omololu Akinlolu got a suspended four-month term. Both had pleaded guilty to affray and must pay £1,500 costs; the judge called the attack plainly dangerous.
