Mumbai Police to expand squad of Belgian Malinois, the breed used in bin Laden raid

Mumbai Police, which inducted five Belgian Malinois puppies in 2019, is adding six more to strengthen explosive detection and VIP security checks. The breed became famous after the US Navy SEAL raid that killed Osama bin Laden. One new dog has joined the squad, while five others are training in Pune. Police are even considering retaining only Malinois in future.
