CBSE makes vocational subject compulsory for Class 9 from 2026-27

The Central Board of Secondary Education has revised its Class 9 scheme of studies for the 2026-27 session, making vocational education compulsory. Under a circular issued on October 29, these students will sit Class 10 board exams in 2027-28 with five compulsory subjects, a 33% pass mark, optional skill subjects and provisions for replacing a subject.
