France to replace university admissions platform after protests

France will replace Parcoursup, its platform for university and higher education applications, in 2028, with substantial changes coming in 2027, Higher Education Minister Philippe Baptiste announced. Students have criticised unclear selection criteria and unequal access. The move follows France's worst unrest in years on October 17, when protests over school funding and living costs turned violent.
