Hackers used 44 AI agents to automate cyberattacks, researchers say

A cybercrime operation dubbed CyberStrikeAI used 44 AI agents to automate hacking, from reconnaissance and finding vulnerabilities to data theft and report writing, according to TrendAI researchers. In October it scanned at least 19 organisations, including 16 in Japan, for weaknesses. Two other cases showed attackers using AI to plan attacks and build hacking tools.
