Hegseth heads to Manila for ASEAN defence talks with Asia-Pacific partners

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will attend the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting-Plus in the Philippines this week, alongside counterparts from India, South Korea and Japan, as Washington seeks to shore up regional ties. The talks bring together the 11-member ASEAN and eight dialogue partners, with Australia, New Zealand, Russia and China also expected to attend.
