Chest tightness in winter? Cardiologist warns it may signal heart trouble

Chest tightness or heaviness in cold weather can sometimes signal acute coronary syndrome, a sudden drop in blood flow to the heart, warns Dr Rasheed Ahmed of Manipal Hospital, Jaipur. Cold constricts blood vessels, raises blood pressure and makes blood more prone to clotting. Elderly people and those with diabetes, hypertension or heart disease face higher risk.
