Delhi HC upholds passport fee hike for NRIs
The Delhi High Court dismissed a PIL challenging the Centre's increase in passport fees for non-resident Indians, saying a 67% hike after 14 years is not "unreasonable or exorbitant". A bench of acting Chief Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre and Justice Sanjay Sharma said fee-setting is a policy matter. Petitioner Pravasi Legal Cell had alleged discrimination, citing ₹11,900 versus ₹2,500.
