Amazon cuts about 250 jobs in its devices unit

Amazon has eliminated about 250 jobs in its devices and services unit, mostly in software development, weeks after launching new Kindle e-readers and tablets. The company said the move would help it operate more efficiently and align with its product roadmap. Earlier this month, Amazon cut about 1,000 roles in its core retail division.
