Russell Brand's lawyer says media 'poisoned the well' against him

In closing arguments at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, Russell Brand's barrister Ian Winter KC told jurors that a 2023 Channel 4 documentary and Times and Sunday Times reports prompted people to make criminal allegations many years later, 'poisoning the well of justice'. Brand faces seven counts, including three of rape and three of sexual assault. Winter said a promiscuous life is entirely lawful.
