Britain's Dalton Smith defended his WBC light-welterweight world title with a split-decision win over Alberto Puello in a homecoming bout at Sheffield's Utilita Arena. The 29-year-old extended his unbeaten record to 20 fights in a tight tactical contest in which both boxers showed sharp counter-punching, and the result was in doubt until the scorecards were read.
