EC orders transfer of poll officials in five states ahead of 2027 elections

The Election Commission on Tuesday directed Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand to transfer election-related officers posted in their home districts or who have served three years or more in one district, ahead of the 2027 Assembly polls. The order covers electoral registration officers, ADMs, SDMs, tehsildars, block development officers and divisional and municipal commissioners.
