Telangana SIR: nearly 27% of new voter applications rejected

Telangana's Special Intensive Revision may keep many genuine electors off final rolls. Of 10,77,450 Form-6 applications for new voter registration received across 119 constituencies since January, 2,43,643 were rejected, close to 27%. Over five lakh applications came in the pre-SIR phase alone. Deletions through Form-7 were also unusually high before the revision began.
