NC calls 17 MLAs' meeting 'internal democracy', not rebellion

National Conference provincial president Showkat Ahmad Mir has played down a meeting of 17 disgruntled party MLAs in Srinagar, calling it an exercise in internal democracy rather than a rebellion. The legislators sent demands to party chief Farooq Abdullah, including a stronger push for statehood, fulfilling 2024 manifesto promises within six months and removing the Chief Minister's advisor.
