45-paise rail travel insurance now for counter tickets too

From October 27, passengers buying reserved train tickets at railway counters can opt for travel insurance of up to ₹10 lakh for just 45 paise per person. The facility was earlier limited to IRCTC e-tickets. The move follows a Supreme Court direction on a plea filed after the June 2023 Odisha train accident. A mobile number and digital payment are mandatory.
