Spanish mine suggests Iberian copper reached Bronze Age Scandinavia
Excavations at Las Minillas in southern Spain yielded 17 new radiocarbon dates between 1350 and 750 BC and 735 grooved stone hammers, making it the largest securely dated Late Bronze Age copper mine in Iberia. The study, published in Antiquity, found 11 Scandinavian bronze objects with signatures consistent with copper from the site.
