Volkswagen gets Level 3 self-driving test permit in China

Volkswagen Group China has received a permit to test Level 3 autonomous driving on public roads in Hefei, with testing already under way and large-scale data collection allowed. It is a step toward VW's goal of L3 readiness in China by 2027. The software comes from CARIZON, its China driving unit, using the Hyper Sense 8 driver-assistance system.
