Iraqi PM makes first visit to Syria since Assad's fall
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi met Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa in Damascus, the first visit by an Iraqi premier since Bashar al-Assad's fall. Talks focused on trade, agriculture and exporting Iraqi oil through the Baniyas line. Iraq has begun limited oil exports via Syria since the US-led war on Iran, and the two signed deals in July to revive the Haditha-Baniyas pipeline.
