Italy steps up security as students and unions protest nationwide

Italy tightened security on Friday as tens of thousands of students and union members marched in dozens of cities, including Rome, Milan and Naples. The nationwide day of protests and strikes targeted soaring living costs, demanded more investment in education and also took aim at the wars in the Middle East.
