Yercaud home built on stilts around a mature tree

A Yercaud house called Whispers of the Wild, designed by Chennai-based MAWI Design, lets the site shape its plan. A mature tree anchors an L-shaped communal deck, with private rooms at either end. Raised on stilts over sloping ground, the 2,400 sq ft, two-level home for a Salem family of six leaves vegetation and water flow undisturbed.
