Utah files criminal charges against Kalshi and its co-founders

Utah has filed criminal charges against prediction market operator Kalshi and co-founders Tarek Mansour and Luana Lopes Lara, including 13 counts of violating the state's gambling ban and one of profiting from illegal activity. Attorney general Derek Brown said Kalshi kept operating in Utah despite a federal ruling that state gambling laws apply to it. Kalshi called the charges 'crazy overreach'.
