SC: UAPA bail bar applies only to foreigners who entered India illegally

The Supreme Court has ruled that UAPA does not block bail for every foreign national. A bench of Justices Aravind Kumar and Vipul M Pancholi said the strict bar under Section 43D(7) applies only if the accused entered India illegally, not if a valid visa later expired. The court upheld bail for Sri Lankan national Mohamed Rifas, dismissing the Centre's appeal.
