Hyderabad faces extreme groundwater drought months before summer

Bachupally and Ameerpet in Hyderabad recorded the worst Groundwater Drought Index figures among all Telangana mandals, Ground Water department data shows. At least 14 mandals in the city's core urban region face 'extreme drought' in groundwater depth and five more 'severe drought', four months before summer. The index compares current water-table depth with ten-year historical levels.
