Census 2027 population count to begin on January 10

The population enumeration phase of Census 2027 will begin on January 10, 2027, with optional self-enumeration until January 24, a home ministry notification said. Door-to-door enumeration will run from January 25 to February 28, with 40 questions, including 13 new ones. The reference date is March 1, 2027. Some poll-bound and snow-bound states are excluded from this schedule.
