Nilekani-led exam reforms panel gets extension till January 2027

The Centre has extended the tenure of the Nandan Nilekani-led task force on examination reforms until January 2027. The PMO wants consultations with chief ministers and chief secretaries before recommendations are finalised. Some stakeholders have suggested a hybrid format for NEET-UG 2027, giving time to expand infrastructure for a full switch to computer-based testing in 2028.
