Study maps how pancreatic cancer reshapes its DNA to resist treatment
NYU Langone researchers analysed nearly half a million individual pancreatic cancer cells and found that tumours contain distinct groups of cells, called clones, that alter their DNA in different ways. Some clones gain changes that help them survive treatment, while others become more aggressive or spread. Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma kills nearly 85% of patients within five years of diagnosis.
