World Pasta Day: Mumbai's dedicated pasta bars are having a moment

Mumbai diners can now go out specifically for pasta, as a wave of pasta bars serves handmade shapes, carefully crafted sauces and compact menus. A 2024 restaurant industry report found 56% of Mumbaikars who dine out prefer Italian, ahead of Chinese and South Indian. India's pasta market was valued at about $1.2 billion in 2025, with Maharashtra holding 14.5%.
