New form of carbon found: diamondiyne
Scientists have created a new form of carbon called diamondiyne, a three-dimensional network of carbon atoms that resembles diamond but has a more open structure. Researchers first proposed that such a form could exist more than three decades ago, and it has now finally been synthesised. The findings were reported in the journal Angewandte Chemie.
