Keralam to bring Bill to curb high treatment costs in private hospitals

Keralam will introduce a Bill in the next Assembly session to regulate high treatment costs in private hospitals, Health Minister K. Muraleedharan told the Assembly on Monday. He said the government agrees in principle on regulating private hospitals, many now managed by foreign companies, as treatment costs and room rents have risen sharply while insurers sometimes reject claims.
