Keralam to bring Bill to curb high treatment costs in private hospitals

Keralam will introduce a Bill in the next Assembly session to regulate steep treatment costs in private hospitals, Health Minister K. Muraleedharan told the House on Monday. Replying to CPI(M) MLA K.N. Balagopal, he said the government agrees in principle that private hospitals, many now managed by foreign companies and private equity-backed groups, need regulation.
