West Bengal to bar school staff from political activities

West Bengal will prohibit teaching and non-teaching staff of government and government-aided schools from political activities, School Education Minister Deepak Barman said. The state is also weighing linking teachers' annual increments and promotions to students' learning outcomes from next academic year, along with a single-teacher system in primary classes and restoring pass-fail exams.
