Ballon d'Or site posts 'winner' articles for several stars before ceremony

Hours before the Ballon d'Or ceremony in London, an article on the award's official website titled 'Harry Kane wins the 2026 Ballon d'Or' spread online. Similar pieces were found for Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, plus Alexia Putellas and Ewa Pajor for the women's award. The Kane and Mbappe articles were later removed.
