Salesforce to buy defence AI startup Rune in reported $375m deal

Salesforce has agreed to acquire Rune Technologies, which builds AI software to help the US military forecast supply needs and manage field logistics, for a reported $375 million in cash and stock. Rune will strengthen Missionforce, Salesforce's defence unit, which grew 80% year on year helped by a $5.6 billion US Army contract. Founded in 2024, Rune had raised $30 million from investors.
