India's scooter sales jump 29% to nearly 49 lakh units in first half of FY27

India's scooter sales rose 29.38% to 48,65,192 units between April and September 2026, from 37,60,368 a year earlier. Electric scooters more than doubled their sales and made up one in five units. Honda Activa led with 14.83 lakh units, followed by TVS Jupiter and Suzuki Access, while TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak entered the top five.
